Odùduwà  Industry

New Yoruba

The  Odùduwà  script is a unique form of writing the Yoruba Language created by Beninies-Yoruba Chief Tolúlàṣẹ Ògúntósìn. Taking influence from the Latin and Arabic Yoruba scripts, it builds a new foundation for the language.

How it works:
This font works a bit unconventionally as it is not supported by the Unicode standard. Becuase of this,  it functions similarly to icon fonts, simply replacing the glyphs with your design. Most Letters in the Yoruba alphabet have an english counterpart (QWERTY keyboard) but not all. I took the chance to replace all letters in the english but not in the Yoruba with those in the Yoruba but not english.  Below is a daigram showing these changes.

- Red keys have been replaced
- “V” is deactivated.
- Keys “G“ and “B” have been combined on “X”, for  “Gbe”
